Hiking trails
The Hocking Hills of Southeast Ohio has much to offer including great hiking trails. The Hocking Hills Park offers many nature activities at Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, Conkle’s Hollow, Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, and Tar Hollow. The places are known for their rugged cliffs, waterfalls, stone bridges, and unique rock formations.
Hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, bird watching & swimming
In addition, the Hocking Hills area also includes the Wayne National Forest, four nature preserves, and nine state parts. Public hunting grounds for deer and turkey are available in the Wayne National Forest. Lake Logan, Lake Hope, and the Hocking River give visitors a place to fish, boat, canoe, bird watch, and swim.
ATV, horse & mountain bike trail riding
At the Wayne National Forrest, All-Terrain Vehicles, horses, and mountain bike trails are designated. Trails are open for use from April 16 to December 14 each year. Trail permits must be purchased to ride in the Wayne National Forest.
Shopping, golfing & train riding
Specifically for the shopper, the Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Mark offers antique shopping. The Brass Ring is the local golf club. In addition, the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, which is a non-profit volunteer operation, runs trains between Nelsonville and Logan. Starting in the middle of April until the beginning of November, train rides with historic stops are a family-friendly adventure.
